Pinocchio Visits Pensions in Gilmore

Pinocchio Visits Pensions in Gilmore

People living in Gilmore are used to the argy bargy of politics but complete inaccuracy is a bit hard to take, especially this close to Christmas.

“Let’s talk about pensions!” said Ann Sudmalis, Federal Member for Gilmore.

Fact one: there are about 35,000 pensioners in Gilmore.

Fact two: 90% of our pensioners will either have no change or will be better off.

Fact three: the remaining 1 in 10 pensioners have relatively substantial assets they can use to supplement their income. When that cuts out or reduces over time, they too will be eligible for the Aged Pension.

Fact four: the small percentage of pensioners who, due to their assets, lose their pension will still have a Health Care Card that is not income or asset tested.

“Local councillors generally do not have an information line directly connected to the Federal Government, and if they choose to repeat the inaccuracies promoted by others, then they should be aware that their lack of knowledge will be addressed and corrected!” Mrs Sudmalis said.

“Stop scaring members of our community by reporting untruthful information!” Media Release

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand.
