The Beagle Weekly welcomes Deb Skelton to our Food page as one of our guest contributors on all things food. Debbie Skelton and Steve Shanahan are the brains behind Redbox Pantry. Debbie is the cook and designer and Steve is the creative side of the business, resident photographer and quality controller.
Debbie has many years experience in running restaurants and cafes and working in management roles in Government and community organisations. She has had a long love affair with food and is focusing that passion through the The Food Collective. Debbie has been a regular food writer and contributor to the Canberra Times newspaper Food and Wine Magazine and also produces bespoke celebration cakes to order. Debbie has also travelled Europe participating in cooking schools and food research. Deb introduces herself: "I've always had a passion for food and cooking. But for the last 20 years I've been balancing that passion with demanding roles in social housing and disability in the government and community sectors." "I also stepped out of 9-5 work a couple of times to run restaurants, which gave me the opportunity to satisfy the foodie entrepreneurial streak that was always simmering just below the surface."
