Help Search for Ray - Dec 10th

On the 7th July 2016 at 4pm our world turned into a terrible nightmare. Our father Ray Speechley who was suffering mild Dementia and in respite care went missing from the Dalmeny IRT where he was staying for Respite Care. Dad had climbed 2 fences and disappeared.

The Police and VRA, RFS conducted a search for the next two days and found nothing. There are witnesses who confirm sighting him last at 4.30pm on the hwy. Shortly afterwards a red Honda Accord Euro was seen stopped on the side of the road and an unknown person was seen leaning into this car and it is possible this was Ray and someone may have given him a lift.

On the 6th August the largest ground search in 30 years was conducted to look for our father in bush land and surrounding areas of Dalmeny, it included Police, VRA, SES, horse riders, dirt bikes, cadaver dogs and Westpac helicopter, but they found nothing.

Police obtained the names and addresses of people who own red Honda Accord Euros and began checking with the owners to ask if they had seen Ray however, as of 14th November, over 4 months since our father disappeared the driver of the sighted red Honda Accord Euro has not come forward and the car has never been found. How can is that possible in today's society.

Its a terrible nightmare. Our father has missed his birthday, my mothers, mine, his daughter in law, grandson, great grandson, great grand daughter and the worst is he missed his 58th Wedding Anniversary.

People say we need closure but how can you get closure when you just don't know: is Dad in the bush, did he get a lift somewhere. The Police won't be performing anymore ground searches unless a lead is found. We carried out a volunteer ground search on 15th October and now we are organising another for 10th December. We just cant give up. I made a promise that one way or another I would bring my father home and I won't stop till I can. Meanwhile the red Honda Accord Euro is still missing so we cant give up hope that he may still be alive somewhere.

PLEASE HELP US SEARCH FOR RAY - VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED WE NEED TO BRING DAD HOME Nikii Smith 0475140465
