Following a THPA email request to Council dated 26 Sep 16, Mr Warren Sharp (the Director of Infrastructure) and his engineering & works team are to be congratulated on their prompt action to replace the bicycle rack on the cycle/walk at Coila Beach which was removed in order to locate and install the new Bubbler water fountain. The original bicycle rack had been funded by the THPA, but alas although it was galvanised coated steel, it was badly rusted due to its exposure to the elements on the beach front.
To its credit the Council moved very quickly to replace the bicycle rack ahead of the tourist season, and the new rack is constructed of stainless steel on a concrete pad, which was specially designed to complement the Bubbler Water Fountain. See photograph below taken on 28 Oct 16 being the day of installation! Well done Council workers.
