Basil Sellers winner

What a fantastic Basil Sellers opening and elegant exhibition. The winning artist was Merryn Sommerville with her beautiful and confronting piece ‘Ghosts I’ve Met’ (below). Merryn hails from Bega and we are proud to be able to support the artistic journey of this talented young artist.

The Eurobodalla Shire Council’s Highly Commended Award went to Mogo artist Mary Watson, with her utterly delightful ceramic work ‘Sunday Morning at Surf Beach’. A big congratulations to all the finalists, the judges were very complimentary about the exhibition and indeed the high standard of work that made up over 100 entries. You can view the exhibition until Thursday 27 October and remember, there is still the $500 South East Arts People’s Choice Award to be claimed. Do get along and cast your vote in the next week.
