NELLIGEN. (From our Correspondent) A Tennis Club is being formed here, and a block of land containing about an acre has been secured from the Lands Dept. on an annual lease. We intend to build an up-to-date tennis court and to improve the land by planning trees and providing seats etc.

A Progress Association was formed here at a meeting held on Saturday, 9th inst. A good start has been made and the Association promises to be very successful.

My remarks in your issue of 9th instant re Bateman’s Bay Progress Association have caused a considerable amount of discussion; also two letters in reply from members of the Association. That being so, I wish to point out as briefly as possible the objectionable features of the present mail service... Replies to letters posted here for Moruya do not reach us for five days. If letters are posted here on Saturdays, the reply does not reach us for seven days. Residents of Bolaro and Runnyford have to wait nine days. Business in connection with Land Board, Stock Board, Shire Council, medicines, etc. go to Moruya, so that delay is often a serious matter……..

PUBLIC NOTICE. H. WATERS. Begs to notify that he has arranged for weekly supplies from Sydney of Prime Mutton, Sausages and Saveloys, which can be had at Moruya Freezing Works.

List of Prices for CASH: MUTTON Forequarters—9d per lb.; hindquarters 11d. SAUSAGES. Anderson’s Famous Mixed Pork, 1/3 per lb. Anderson’s Famous Beef 1/- per lb. Anderson’s Famous Saveloys 3d each by ½ doz.
