VITAL STATISTICS. – For the quarter ending 31st March, 1921, the vital statistics registered at the local office were:- Births 20, deaths, 7, marriages 15.
“GLENBRAE.” – Mr. W. Cole, formerly of the Murrah and Bermagui, has bought Mrs. C. Burns’ “Glenbrae” property at Mullenderee, on which he has taken up his residence.
When going to Press there was every indication of a flood.
THE WEATHER. – Excellent rains have fallen throughout New South Wales, bountiful falls having been recorded, particularly in the north and central west. In Moruya the following was gauged: Monday 4th, 231, Tuesday 3, Wednesday 35, Thursday 75, Friday 260. Total 604.
SERIOUS ILLNESS. – Word was received on Thursday that Mrs. Jay Robertson (nee Rene Turnbull) was seriously ill, appendicitis feared. Her sister, Miss Gertye Turnbull, immediately left for Sydney. Reports yesterday were more reassuring, stating that the patient was slightly better.
THE FORD CAR. – It is interesting to note how busy men, but withal men of standing in this district, are rapidly becoming Ford owners. Among whom may be mentioned Messers. G. W. Mitchell (Moruya), Mitchell Bros. (Narooma), S. W. Bate (Central Tilba), Myles O’Reilly (of O’Reilly Bros., Cobargo), Jack Hansen, C. W. Bown, G. W. Bishop and others. Three of the parishes have bought cars for their constant work. These are only a few of the Ford cars and trucks recently sold, and all are giving the same economic service and satisfaction. Cars are now fitted with self-starter, battery, electric lights, and detachable rims. Mr. H. J. Bate is now in a position to offer cars on good terms.

PERSONAL AND OTHERWISE. -The roar of the engine of Mr. Hordern’s seaplane as the machine passed overhead caused a number of beach and rock fishermen at Bermagui to haul in hastily, thinking a tidal wave was coming.
EUROBODALLA SHIRE. – At the monthly meeting of the Shire on Wednesday, President D. Hutchison, Crs. A. H. Annetts, T. Flood, H. J. Mallon, J. and H. J. Bate were in attendance. CORRESPONDENCE. – From L. G. Dept., re recoupment Narooma ferry. The clerk was instructed to ascertain if the Council has power to charge tolls on ferries in this area. From Fisheries Dept., re alteration of area of Moruya River closed against net fishing. Resolved to accept the area from the mouth of the river to Preddy’s mill in lieu of the portion of the river west of Moruya bridge. From Lands Dept., enclosing gazettal of Mr. Frederick Barling as trustee of Mogo Recreation Reserve. From C. Coe (Yourie) asking for repairs to Tinpot road; from Postmaster (Tilba Tilba) repairs to road opposite new post office; from James Ball (Moruya) repairs to Burns’ Lane Broulee road; K. R. Lavis (Eurobodalla) repairs to road between “Thistlewood” and Stormon’s; from H. McIntosh (Gundary) clearing of water-course. From A. H. Annetts (Bateman’s Bay) asking permission to erect a bulk store fronting Orient St. Permission granted subject to approval of Engineer. From Rolfe and Sons (Bateman’s Bay) submitting plan for Banking premises for Aust. Bank of Commerce. Permission granted subject to approval of the Engineer.
