KIORA.- A tender in the vicinity of £400 has been accepted for the erection of a new school building at Kiora. Mr. C.J. Louis of Braidwood is the successful tenderer.
SERIOUS ACCIDENT.- On Monday Mr. Lance Sly met with a serious and painful accident. He had a young horse tied to a post and was about to put a pair of winkers on the animal when it reared, striking Lance on the lower jaw, and the unfortunate victim sustained a compound fracture. Mr de Saxe assisted Dr. Quilter in rendering temporary relief to the patient, who was as soon as possible sent by special car to Sydney.

Mr. A. E. HUNT. On Tuesday last at his residence, the Silvermine, there passed over to the Bourne from whence no traveller returns, Mr. A. Hunt, at the age of 47 years. He was the second son of the late Mr. William Hunt, manager of the Little Gem Gold Mining Coy. Poor Bert, as he was familiarly called, has been a sufferer for a number of years from internal complications, the main trouble being attributed to the inhalation of dust from mines……Under a mining lease he took up a small selection at the Silver Mine, and with the help of his sterling and devoted little wife cleared the place and built a small home………
MR JACK TIER. After a short illness the death of Mr. Jack Tier, youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs John Tier, occurred at this residence, Queen St. Moruya on Tuesday, at the age of 50 years…… In his youth he was a great athlete, being one of our noted South Coast foot runners……Deceased leaves a widow, three young children, two brothers and four sisters, to whom we offer our very sincere sympathy.
Mrs. HUTTON GIBSON (Miss Eva Mylott). Intense grief prevailed when the news came through that Mrs Hutton Gibson (Miss Eva Mylott) had died on the previous Saturday at her home in N.Y., America, aged 40 years. It is hard to realise that this charming and loveable woman will no more be seen on this terrestrial sphere. She was indeed the “Queen of Song”, having won her way into the hearts of thousands throughout the world with her magnificent contralto voice. The very deepest sympathy is expressed for her aged mother and brothers and sister. Besides her relatives in Australia she leaves a widower and two little children the youngest about 3 months old…..
