BBay SES crew enjoys a break in the weather to "repair a leaking roof"

The training never stops for our local SES crews. Today the SES Batemans Bay Unit "repaired" the roof of their own HQ!

Yes, there was no rain all day and some of the Unit's volunteers spent the day completing a part of the Storm and Water Damage Operations Course, which includes the simulated temporary repair of leaking roofs.

Today's activities and challenges consisted of setting up a Height Safety System that allows the rescue volunteers to safely access the roof and work at heights.

Tarps, rope and sandbags were then use to simulate a repair to the roof of the HQ.
