Locked or not - Corrigans Playground

Dear Beagle Editor,

On Sunday 5th March 2017 I visited the newly opened play ground area at Corrigans, when I went to leave and secure the gate at the park the panel next to the gate swung open, on a closer look this panel had a lockable section, I tried to close the panel but it was obvious a key was needed and this panel remained open.

A week later on my return to the park I found this panel had been secured with a black cable tie and there had been an advertisement for a council promotion secured to another one of the panels.

Today when I went back to the park the cable tie had been cut and was lying on the grass near the playground and the panel again was swinging loose and wide open therefore the playground is currently insecure and children could quite easily run out of the park onto the road.
