Work stops at Durras Intersection

WORK STOPS AT DURRAS DRIVE INTERSECTION UPGRADE TO IMPROVE HOLIDAY TRAFFIC FLOW Motorists are advised work will cease during the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays on the $2.5 million Durras Drive intersection upgrade at Benandarah. Major work to build a left turn deceleration lane started in July to provide a clear distinction between southbound through traffic and turning traffic from the Princes Highway. The road shoulders are also being widened, sight distances improved and guardrails installed on the side of the road to further improve safety. Work on the upgrade will stop on Tuesday 20 December and resume on Monday 6 February, 2017. This will allow holiday traffic to travel through the work zone without delay, but motorists should note a reduced speed limit of 80 km/h will remain in place during the site shutdown. The reduced speed remains in place for the safety of motorists, as the work is not complete. Roads and Maritime Services thanks motorists for their patience while work is being carried out. The intersection upgrade is expected to be complete early next year. For the latest traffic updates call 132 701, visit livetraffic.com or download the Live Traffic NSW App. Media Release
