Eurobodalla residents may not be aware that as well as having responsibility for rates roads and rubbish, Eurobodalla Council can directly support the health and welfare of residents of the Eurobodalla. Eurobodalla Council can contribute to remedy the ongoing absence of adequate medical resources in the Eurobodalla.
The Eurobodalla Labor Local Government Committee supports Clr Pat McGinlay’s notices of motion at the Council meeting on Tuesday the 10th December to 1. lobby for a Continence Nurse 2. to further progress ONE Hospital Eurobodalla.
1. NOM19/010 –
We thank Clr McGinlay for his support of Dr Michael Holland and his important background information about incontinence in the Eurobodalla. We support Clr McGinlay’s motion that Council write to the Southern NSW Local Health District board requesting that a continence nurse be reinstated urgently.
2. NOM19/014 -
At the recent meeting of the Southern NSW Local Health District Board it was confirmed that neither the Mayor nor Council executives have contacted the Southern NSW Local Health District about the progress of ONE Hospital even though Council are the consenting authority and key stakeholder in the site, roads, waste planning.
We thank Clr McGinlay for his support for Dr Michael Holland and ONE Hospital.
We support the motion that Council write to the Southern NSW Local Health District to
1. Reaffirm Council support
2. Seek to assist
3. Seek assurance that ONE Hospital will provide equivalence in services to other Regional Base Hospitals within the Southern NSW Health District.
Since the funding announcement for ONE Hospital 12 months ago by the Berejiklian Government, no further consultation or planning has occurred. We sincerely hope that Clr McGinlay receives majority support from his fellow councilors for both motions, in the interests of the current and ongoing health needs of the Eurobodalla community.
