South Durras residents protest to save their Reserve

South Durras residents rallied on Saturday over Council’s claim that their Dedicated Public Reserve / Wildlife Corridor / Threatened Glider Habitat / Asset Protection Zone / Public Walkway has “NO recreation or conservation value” and is “surplus to needs”.

Many residents will be speaking at the Public Hearing on Planning Proposal 19 objecting to the reclassification of Lot 84, Village Road South Durras on Thursday 4 May in opposing this Council's proposal for removing this Public Reserve and then selling the land to provide revenue and to create urban infill.

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand. Anyone who would like to contribute an opinion are encouraged to send in a Letter to the Editor where it might be considered for publication
