Shirley And Ted Quinlan Take Out Vets Golf 2 Person Ambrose Event

On what was a beautiful, sunny morning a good field of 60 players registered for this mornings 2 Person Ambrose event, players also vying for the Phyllis Starr "tin cup", a trophy presented quarterly at these events by Tim Starr in memory of his late wife Phyllis. The event was followed by a gala day bbq lunch.

Winners on the day were Shirley and Ted Quinlan with a net score of 32 strokes. This was Shirley and Ted's second win in succession at this event, something noted by the Vets handicapper! Runners up were Peter McRae and Lance Shadbolt on 32.25 on count back from Kathy and Stephen Crossling, these four just outpacing fourth place getters Sandra and Ron Hanlon on 32.75.

Balls or chocolates were won by Ann and Terry Challender on 33, David William and Allen Lee on 33.25, Annette and Ian Manton together with Leonie Snodgrass and Dorothy Madden on 34, and finally Teri and Steve Swanbury on 35. Nearest the pins went to Robert McKirdy on the 4th, Frank Pomfret on the 6th, and Chris Wratten and Terry Challender on the 7th. Ian Miller took out the Accuracy drive on the 5th.
