NSW Health still refusing to budge on radiotherapy for the South East

The South East Radiotherapy Petition was at The Rivermouth General Store and café in Tomakin on a bright, warm Sunday morning garnering much attention from the locals.

Volunteers extended their thanks to Tina and her crew for their generous invitation to parachute the Petition onto one of their tables.

More than 70 people signed the petition and shared their experiences with Radiotherapy away from family and home. Those at the table said "We also gathered some important info on the way the Health bureaucracy works, for example we learned one of the tricks (Illawarra) Shoalhaven LHD used to get their Nowra radiotherapy services going… At least THEIR administrators were incredibly focused on getting their population what they needed".

Added to the 130 signatures gathered at the Moruya Markets on Saturday, the Rivermouth signatures now bring the Petition total to over 1700. "More than half of this has been gathered single-handedly by champion ONE Advocate Lou Dampney, fantastic effort Lou! More to do, ONE supporters, this is only 6 weeks in Moruya and Tomakin! The rest of Eurobodalla and the Bega Valley still to come.

"And remember: the Petition table is at the Moruya Markets every Saturday am. (Thank you Markets Committee!)".

One might hazzard a guess that NSW Health will be ducking for cover when explanations are sought from the new Federal Government.
