The village of Mogo is big on character but short on recreational opportunities. Until now.
The Mogo Recreation Park is a space for the whole community, and Eurobodalla Council has worked closely with the town’s businesses, school and Local Area Land Council (LALC) to develop a facility which functions to bring residents together and give visitors a place to stop, rest and play.
New playground equipment includes a challenging climbing frame, fun slide, spinning carousels and swings. Other amenities include a new barbecue and covered picnic tables. In recognition of Mogo’s strong Aboriginal heritage and culture the reserve includes a mural (below) by local artist Bronwen Smith and a yarning circle.
The park will be officially opened on Thursday 8 August, with Mogo Public School students, the LALC and wider Mogo community all joining the celebrations between 10.30am to 12noon.
