Here’s Mathew Hatcher - Mayor Eurobodalla Shire putting today’s Council Meeting on the record.
"Democracy in action with diverse views, respectfully presented and discussed, about Moruya Rodeo. The New Year’s Day event goes ahead in 2023, with the five-year license renewal application to have an extended public exhibition period until 31 January to get feedback from the community.
"NSW Government grant funding of $1.4M accepted for stormwater upgrades in southern Batemans Bay to allow for medium-density housing in that area (around Golf Links Drive/Bavarde Avenue). At a time when our region is under significant housing stress, we worked hard to have this included in the eligibility criteria for the NSW Housing fund.
"More NSW Government grants accepted, including $300K towards 14 community events, and $660K for a new playing field at Bill Smyth oval in Narooma.
"Eurobodalla’s Bushfire Recovery Service to close in January after three years of caring service to residents. Our case managers helped hundreds and hundreds of families and individuals get back on their feet after the fires with tailored support and practical help. The service will close with care, transitioning anyone still needing support to other local services.

And yes folks, it is Movember
Editors Note: The feature album on the bench behind the Mayor is the famous Aretha Franklin with its classic lyrics: You're a no good heartbreaker
You're a liar and you're a cheat
And I don't know why
I let you do these things to me
My friends keep telling me
That you ain't no good
But oh, they don't know
That I'd leave you if I could Some time ago, I thought
You had run out of fools
But I was so wrong
You got one that you'll never lose
The way you treat me is a shame
How could ya hurt me so bad
Baby, you know that I'm the best thing
That you ever had
Kiss me once again
