Low Lifes remove Angel Ring pole at Sth Durras

The Beagle has been advised that a lowlife person, or persons, has vandalised and removed an Angel Ring pole last night that was installed at South Durras Headland by volunteer community members last Saturday. The pole and clamps are missing presumably thrown in the ocean. The installation of the Angel Ring life preserver was approved by Crown Lands (the landowner) and Council and funded by fishing licence fees and the community. The aim is to save lives! This vandalism has been reported to the Police. It is an offence to tamper with emergency rescue equipment. If anyone has any information or saw any vehicles or anyone carrying a sledgehammer at the Headland late last night, please call Batemans Bay police.

A member of the Sth Durras community said this morning "This is appalling behaviour that undermines all the voluntary efforts and wastes the time and money of hard working community members who are trying to make this a safer community. It could be one of our kids and grandkids that suffers in future."

"Spread the word so we can hopefully find who is responsible."
