While the following might be deemed as some sort of pork barrel electioneering, marketing enterprise for Scot Morrison's government the reality is that behind every initiative is pressure from the community to listen and respect the concerns and shortfalls that have been long identified in the region:
The wellbeing of our community is of upmost importance. From fires to pandemic, the welfare of the community is what I have and will continue to always fight for.
This is what the budget has achieved by way of major protest and the fact that we now approach a Federal election that has the Coalition more than worried :
The following is the Coalition huurrrahhhh: followed by a Blind Freddy Response (in Bold)
COST OF LIVING RELIEF:
- Reducing petrol excise by 22 cents per litre for 6 months, which will help the owners of around 100,000 passenger vehicles in Gilmore, a saving of up to $700 over 6 months.
- Around 57,700 taxpayers in Gilmore will benefit from tax relief of up to $1,500 this year, made up of the $1,080 low and middle income tax offset and a $420 cost of living tax offset.
What they don't say is that this is the last year you will receive your $1,080 low and middle income tax offset and from next year on you will pay more tax.
- In addition to the one-off cost of living tax offset the Government is also providing a one-off cost of living payment of $250 for Australians most in need in Gilmore.
What they don't say is that in order to qualify you will have to jump through hoops and sh*tloads of paperwork for your $250.
- Together, with the recent pension increases, this will see the 28,250 pensioners in Gilmore receive more than $500 in additional support over the next 6 months, when they need it most.
But only if you qualify which will be be damn near impossible and require more forms that the United Nations lunch order.
- Lower taxes: The Government's Tax Plan has already benefited 60,800 in Gilmore.
DEFENCE AND NATIONAL SECURITY:
- Growing Australia’s defence force by over 30% to 100,000 personnel.
Read between the lines of who this benefits...
MORE SUPPORT FOR:
- APPRENTICES: We already have 2,610 apprentices in Gilmore and new measures in the Budget will lead to more opportunities for apprentices and trainees with expanded wage subsidies.
- MEDICINES: In the last year the Government has funded 2,680,110 free or subsidised medicines in Gilmore through the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
What they aren't telling you is what has been removed from the Scheme.
- BUSINESSES: The Government is providing for a new Technology Investment Boost to encourage small businesses to go digital, which will benefit 18,200 businesses in Gilmore. In addition, small businesses will also have access to a new 20 per cent bonus
deduction for training and upskilling employees.
Really Mr Constance....????
Around 4,300 businesses in Gilmore will be able to access this bonus deduction. Also, around 18,200 businesses in Gilmore will be able to write-off the full value of any eligible asset they purchase.
Mr Constance, unelected Liberal candidate... have you ever attempted to fill in the paper work required by your government? It all sounds goo but the take up rate is less than 5%
- HOMEBUYERS: The Government's Home Guarantee Scheme is being extended with 50,000 places available per year. Already the scheme is supporting jobs in the construction sector and assisting home buyers into their first home by allowing them to buy a property
with as little as five per cent deposit.
Scott Morrison has told renters all they have to do to solve their rental problem is to buy a house. How many renters have 5% of $1 million to put down as a deposit?
- HEALTH: record funding in hospitals and Telehealth is now permanent
- In Gilmore, there have been 602,120 telehealth consultations funded through Medicare since the start of the pandemic.
Reading between the lines what you actually have is a reduction in the quality of care, swapping face to face with screen to screen, predominantly with our older residents who have major difficulties in dealing with technology. This might be seen as a positive but ask any Telehealth patient and you will discover otherwise.
- NDIS: record funding for the 3,547 participants in Gilmore. In all honesty... would you want to be disabled in this country?
- CHILDCARE: Ongoing childcare funding in this Budget will directly benefit over 5,080 families living in Gilmore. This is a wonderful throwaway line from a situation where there is 400 children for every vacancy in the South East Parents are under stress, kids are overwhelmed and businesses are under pressure - and it's all due to a childcare crisis. Bay Post "But, it's the nought to threes that are falling behind. Family daycare services across the state have been declining at a rapid rate of knots."
- AGED CARE: This Budget continues a further record investment in aged care to help the 40,148 senior Australians living in Gilmore. This investment will deliver more home care places, more funding for aged care centres and increases in the amount of time that nurses and carers spend with residents.
Oh really ???
- CLEAN ENERGY: The Government remains committed to reducing emissions. Supported by the Government's policies, 24,400 rooftop solar panels have been installed in Gilmore.
Those rooftop panels were installed because residents chose to do so. In addition to the desire came the demand by Councils that residents HAD TO install them as a Development application condition.
- INFRASTRUCTURE: $1,910,082,911 has been committed in Gilmore since coming to Government for projects that will ease congestion, connect communities and improve road safety.
Let's talk responsibility and obligation to maintain and renew infrastructure before funding new stuff. The $2 billion could easily be used to fix the cockups before a single dollar is spent on any thing new.
-2000 jobs to be created on the $940 million Milton/Ulladulla bypass.
2000 jobs over $940 million gives each and every employee on the site an average income of $470,000 ... very nice.
MORE BROADLY: record funding for schools, hospitals, Medicare, mental health, aged care, flexible paid parental leave, women’s safety and disability support. More dams, water projects and better mobile phone service:
The Liberal candidate offers:
KEY FACTS:
- Unemployment rate of 4% is the lowest since 1974.
Obviously he hasn't bothered to not that there are no students or back packers. He also hasn't noticed that there is less migration of Australians given job insecurity and accommodation insecurity.
- Economic growth forecast to hit 3.5%.
This might be so if you were in Gas, Iron Ore or Aluminium - for the rest of us it amounts to squat.
- Wages growth expected to run above 3% annually for the next four years.
Yes, if you are able to hold a gun to your employers head and demand an increase because they desperately want to reduce their profit margins.
