Broulee resident, and Australian representative for the “Center for the Advancement of the Steady State Economy” (CASSE), will be holding a free zoom event as part of the National Sustainable Living Festival, on Sunday 6 February at 9am.
He will be presenting the case around why we cannot continue with economic growth. Why growth is the problem, not the solution. Why GDP is a poor performance indicator, and why the only platform for delivering true sustainability is degrowth and the steady-state economy.
This event aims to raise awareness around the idea of ecological limits to growth, how dangerous and counterproductive it is to ignore those limits, and to promote an alternative economic paradigm based around the idea of committing to operating at a sustainable scale.
