Council advise that the Public Gate across Coopers Island Road is now Official.
In addition to the gate Council have removed the old cattle grid and allowed the farmer to install a new grid.
Coopers Island Road has now been graded and the proposed works near the weir are under way in readiness for the summer ahead that sees a steady visitation to this popular recreational fishing spot.
Both Council and DPI have indicated their approval for a jetty or kayak launching ramp near the weir that would enable recreational access to both Trunketabella Lake and via Bowns Creek to Tuross Lake.
