Club Malua Women's Bowls Report

There were 37 ladies on the green Tuesday, on a very warm muggy day, but all matches were finished before the rain started to cool things down a little. Bowls Organiser David Thomas welcomed everyone on his first day back, before handing over to President Sue Beavan. Sue welcomed new bowler Gai Gibson also mentioned how good to have Jean Beeley back on the green. Australia Day " Ashes" will be bowled in Mixed Fours format as only one green available, hopefully there will be 28 of both men and women taking part. Winners on Rink 8, Wendy Geary and Noleen Taylor with a 5 shot win. Runners-up on Rink 14, Yvonne Huddleston, Colleen Ashby and Sue Beavan. Rink 13 was selected to try for Jackpot, winning Skip Pat Weekes did the honours but pressed 16 when she needed 5. Next week $1,000 will be Jackpot. Other winning teams, Tricia Wheeler and Karen Signor winning by 1 on last end Judy Lane, June Williams and Jan Shalders. Dot Stewart, Judy Davis , Lyn Hardy. Pat Biddolph, Gayl Vidgen and Pat Weekes. Bev McKague as swinging Lead Helen Rees and Paula Hancock with some very close scores on the day . Money Club winners on 18, Sonia Frey, 19 Pat Biddolph, well done ladies.
