Carers Accommodation Eurobodalla Regional Hospital, CAERH

Have you ever established an Incorporated Community Company? Well, there are many formalities which have neared completion for CAERH Inc, with the signing of a Heads of Agreement. This was by the Chief Executive of Southern NSW Local Health District, Margaret Bennett OAM and CAERH Chairperson Rob Pollock OAM. The document is to, ‘assist the parties move forward with the planning for the on-site carer accommodation.’

Committee members of CAERH are all volunteers and long term members of South Coast community organisations. Southern NSW Health have used this model for Carers Accommodation for the nearby Bega Hospital with 12 accommodation units, Albury Wodonga Carer Accommodation Centre, 20 units, Shearwater Lodge in Coffs Harbour, 14 units, Western Care Lodge in Orange, 22 units. All these community groups have been created through local Rotary Clubs.

Rob Pollock, President of CAERH said there is a need for affordable, safe, and accessible on-site accommodation for carers and relatives at the new Eurobodalla regional hospital, particularly for those who have a long distance to travel or who need to be close to their loved ones. If you would like to support CAERH’s efforts, please contact Rob Pollock via email: robsandpollock@icloud.com
