Bay Theatre Players Youth workshops are in full swing and at their last gathering the group met at Soul Space in Batehaven to immerse themselves in some wonderful assemblage art with Active Art facilitator Ness Shannon. Being able to brainstorm in groups about their ideas resulted in a variety of outcomes from props to costumes to collage and art works and everything in between.
The large group encouraged each other and had fun using an exciting array of resources to design and construct their pieces.
Being able to reach out into the community to run these workshops further extends the possibilities for all to explore the creative and performing arts and builds the children’s confidence and creativity. Bay Theatre Players Youth Theatre provides opportunity for young people to investigate and develop skills that can be used in performance or in everyday life.
The group will have the opportunity at their next workshop on 30thApril to step onto the Playhouse stage and familiarize themselves with the costume and props department.
