Bay Pavilions wins an MBA award

Eurobodalla Council’s $70 million Bay Pavilions Aquatic and Arts building in Batemans Bay has won a Master Builders Association of NSW award for excellence in construction.

The award, in the category of Public Building over $60M, was presented on Saturday night in Sydney.

The building, funded by $51 million in government grants and $19 million by ratepayers, was also named best regional project at the Australian Institute of Project Management NSW awards, and Editor’s Choice at the 2022 Sustainability Awards last week. The centre was opened in June this year.

The building contractor, ADCO Constructions, used ten local subcontractors and seven local suppliers for the build, also employing a number of locals, including a first-year carpentry apprentice and graduate engineer.

The centre, located in Batemans Bay’s CBD, combines aquatic and arts pavilions linked by an entry foyer with cafe and visitor information.
