A message from NSW RFS regarding pile burns

"Members from NSW RFS-Broulee Brigade were called to an out of control pile burn over the weekend. The burn got out of hand when heavy winds pushed embers from a small pile burn onto a large pile of firewood.

We're taking this opportunity to remind those lighting up to always check the weather conditions and forecasts, and never leave a pile burn unattended.

From today, a front will bring a period of windy conditions across the state, and another series of fronts and troughs look set to impact the state during the later part of the week into the weekend.

Don't be the fire risk to your community. Check the conditions and postpone your burn if necessary." For information on safe burning visit https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-prepare/farm-fire-safety/safeburning
