The Narooma Camera Club keeps growing

May 2017 was rounded off by the River of Art Exhibition in conjunction with the Eurobodalla Photographic Club at which 170 photographs were on display.

The winners of the Peoples’ choice competition at the exhibition were 1st- Wendy Fisk; 2nd - Francis Keogh; 3rd - Michelle Merry.

We were pleased to welcome two new joiners in June which brings the membership up to 40.

Our first meeting in June was a fun evening when members used glow wands to create abstract patterns. Thanks go to Peter Seath for organising the evening. A couple of photographs from that evening are shown below. Each of the patterns was made by one person waving just one glow wand.

On 21 June, we held our monthly competition evening when the set subject was “Circles”. Len Glasser was the judge for the evening. We are always pleased to see Len who invariably presents interesting talks as well as judging the competition entries. This time he showed us the principles of Camera Obscura and had made up three such cameras from cardboard boxes which the members tried out.

The competition results were as follows:

Division A – Open category:

Gold award – Colin Pass (below). Silver awards – Brian Gunter; Shirley Gunter.

On Sunday 25 June, a photographic workshop was held with over 30 people attending. Three Masters of Photography from Sydney provided the tuition and made it a very enjoyable and informative day.

Our club always welcomes visitors and new members. Have a look at our website www.naroomacameraclub.org and our Facebook page facebook.com/naroomacameraclub
