Mark Pearson, MLC, Animal Justice Party to visit the South Coast Feb 19th

Mark Pearson, MLC, Animal Justice Party – First official visit to the South Coast

The Hon. Mark Pearson MLC from the Animal Justice Party (NSW) is making his first official visit to the South Coast. Mr Pearson is keen to listen and learn from the local community about local issues affecting animals, the environment and people.

Mark will be holding a public meeting on Monday 19 February between 6-7.30pm at the Soldier’s Club in Batemans Bay.

The Animal Justice Party extends a warm invitation to all in the region who are concerned about the treatment of animals, and who agree that animals need a stronger voice in the political system.

Mark will be speaking about issues identified by local animal organisations, groups and individuals as important community concerns on the South Coast including:

• Big game fishing: marlin

• Dairy industry

• Circuses and rodeos

• Huntfest

The Animal Justice Party is a growing political force for animals and is the only political party in Australia advocating for all animals. Mark Pearson was elected to the NSW Legislative Council in March 2015, and was the first person in Australian history to be elected on an animal protection platform.

Mark Pearson, “Why did the Animal Justice Party form? It was because thousands of ordinary people were outraged by what is happening to animals.

"We saw thousands of people gather across Australia after they witnessed the horrendous treatment of our live export animals. We are not just concerned about cats and dogs and beautiful, majestic whales; we are also talking about sheep and cattle, the bodies of those animals upon which the economy of Australia was built. All animals are equally deserving of protection and justice"
