Eurobodalla Council has plans to resurface nine roads over the coming month, including five cul-de-sacs.
Asphaltic concrete to a depth of 30mm will be used on these particular roads to help meet the demands of turning vehicles and reduce ongoing maintenance.
According to Council, cul-de-sacs often require additional upkeep because of the tight turning movements of vehicles such as garbage trucks.
Contractors Downer will start work next week in the north of the shire at Batman Place in Batemans Bay and proceed south to Moruya to resurface cul-de-sacs at the end of Anderson Street, Jeffery Place, Cheddar Street, Flanagan Place, Native Way in South Head, and Payne Street in Narooma.
The work will take half a day in each location. The road surface is trafficable again straight away.
In Narooma, the Surf Beach carpark will be resurfaced along with the intersection of Canty Street and the highway, both taking one full day each.
Weather permitting, the Canty Street work will take place on Thursday 8 June 2017 and motorists are asked to note that on-street parking south-west of the highway intersection will be disrupted. The bus stop will be temporarily moved for the day, adjacent to the traffic lights.
Residents living in the programmed streets will receive a notification from Downer in their letterbox one week prior to work starting.
Council asks that motorists obey signage and take care around the works.
