Kings Highway road improvements

Drivers should allow extra time for their travels up and down the Clyde Mountain over the next four weeks while Council and RMS undertake road upgrades and vegetation control.

Capital funding of $800,000 has been secured from the NSW Government to complete the work.

The three sections of road for repair and resurfacing are from the new work at East Nelligen back towards Rotary Drive, east from Cabbage Tree Creek for approximately 800 metres, and a 300-metre stretch above Pooh Bear Corner.

The highway will remain open for the duration of the work and will be under traffic control as each section is completed.

The additional funding will also allow Council crews to extend their regular vegetation maintenance on the Kings Highway. Over the same period as the roadworks, vegetation will be removed to improve lines of sight and road verges trimmed.

Drivers are asked to allow extra travel time and keep an eye out for traffic control until the end of June while the work is underway.
