The ability to cross our mighty Clyde River has been essential to a thriving far south coast for many years.
Boats, vehicle ferries – and most recently the lift-span bridge – have helped travellers and traders alike navigate the NSW coastline.
The current bridge requires regular and costly maintenance due to the age, condition and complexity of the structure. We’re now looking at options for the future of the Clyde River crossing.
Call for community representatives to attend Value Management Workshop
Roads and Maritime Services is seeking two community representatives to participate in a Value Management Workshop to assess options for a new Batemans Bay Bridge.

The workshop is an important part of the project’s development. It brings together project team members, technical specialists, key stakeholders and community members to agree to project objectives, identify broad community issues and assess technical information and a range of design options before making recommendations for a new bridge against agreed criteria. This will contribute to the development of a preferred option and concept design.
The Value Management Workshop is planned for June 2017.
An agenda and background paper will be mailed to selected participants around one week prior to the workshop.Your application will be assessed by a panel of two independent representatives from the community and the Roads and Maritime Project Manager.
Applications from landowners, residents, businesses and other stakeholder groups directly impacted by the road corridor will not be considered as we are seeking broad community representation. These stakeholders are being consulted separately.
All community members will have the chance to have their say on the project when the preferred option is announced later this year
