Funding Boost For Local Eurobodalla Sports

Member for Bega Andrew Constance has today announced $33,790 in NSW Government funding for Eurobodalla sports facilities and programs as part of the 2015/16 Local Sport Grant Program.

Mr Constance said I am pleased to see our local sport groups applying for these funds as they can make a huge difference to clubs in their day to day running.

“Following a call to each club personally, all recipients expressed just how much these funds will help with their 2017 season and beyond.

“Subsidising membership, providing new uniforms and improving facilities are all vital to keeping our communities active.

Funding in the Eurobodalla includes:

  • Batemans Bay Seahawks AFL Club have received $20,000 to install an electronic scoreboard at Hanging Rock oval.

  • Batemans Bay BMX Club have received $1,200 to assist in hosting the 2017 BMX Open.

  • Broulee Dolphins Junior Rugby Union has received $3,000 for training equipment and jerseys.

  • Moruya Soccer Club have received $4,000 towards subsidised membership fees and new uniforms.

  • Tuross Head Tennis Club have received $5,590 to continue works to install new fencing around two courts.

“The main aim of this program is to increase regular and on-going participation opportunities in sport and active recreation in NSW,” Mr Constance said.

“Sport is a huge part of our way of life and the NSW Government recognises how important it is to our communities, for both social and health reasons.”
