Roads and Maritime Services is carrying out road safety upgrades on the Princes Highway between Cranbrook and Lattas Point Roads at Batemans Bay from Tuesday 21 May.
They will be working on weekdays between 7am and 6pm and the work will take around four weeks to complete, weather permitting.
What are they doing?
The Princes Highway at Batemans Bay between Cranbrook Road and Lattas Point Road has had
a poor crash history. During this stage of work, one and a half kilometres of the highway will be
upgraded by:
resurfacing the road to provide a smoother journey for motorists
installing new roadside safety barriers on sections of the highway to reduce the risk of run
off road crashes
installing a wider centreline between The Ridge and Lattas Point roads to provide greater
separation between opposing directions of traffic
installing line marking that alert drivers through noise and vibration that they are straying
from their lane.
What you need to know
Temporary lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place during work hours.
Motorists are advised to allow up to five minutes additional travel time.
While these safety upgrades are underway, Roads and Maritime will also continue planning and investigation work for the South Batemans Bay Link Road project.
