AN OPEN LETTER TO THE POLITICAL CANDIDATES FOR THE NSW ELECTORATE OF BEGA from Dr Michael Holland
A petition of over 3000 signatories was received by the NSW Minister for Health in late 2018.
Both major parties have committed funding towards the development of a single new regional hospital for the Eurobodalla.
The petitioners requested firstly the immediate improvement to Accident & Emergency, Critical Care and Perioperative services.
Will you, as an elected or opposition representative of the people of the Eurobodalla, guarantee the immediate funding for the development of infrastructure and workforce of the Emergency and Critical Care services in the Eurobodalla?
Secondly, the petition requested the development of a single new regional base hospital with the level of services equal to the other regional and base hospitals in the SNSWLHD.
The Eurobodalla region has the second largest population in the SNSWLHD behind Queanbeyan/Palerang region. It is larger than the Bega and Goulburn regions which both have current or developing Intensive Care, Mental Health and Paediatric inpatient services.
Will you, as an elected or opposition representative of the people of the Eurobodalla, guarantee the development of level 4 Intensive Care, Mental Health and Paediatric services in the new Eurobodalla regional base hospital?
