Free worm farming, composting workshops on again

Eurobodalla residents can learn how to turn their kitchen scraps into a natural garden fertiliser at free composting and worm farming workshops in Narooma and Moruya next month.

On completion of the workshops participants receive a voucher for either a free compost bin kit or worm farm and worms, depending on the course.

The workshops will demonstrate how residents can transform unwanted food scraps into a nutrient-rich plant supplement that helps enrich soil and reduces the need for chemical fertilisers. It also reduces the amount of organic waste households are sending to landfill.

Composting workshops will be held from 9.30-11am on Friday 8 March at Narooma Surf Life Saving Club, Friday 15 March at Moruya waste transfer station and Saturday 16 March at Moruya waste transfer station. To book a place for the composting workshops phone Council’s waste services team 02 4474 1024.

Worm farming workshops will be held 9.30-11.30am at the Moruya waste transfer station on Friday 22 March and Saturday 23 March. To book a place for the worm farming workshops phone South Coast Colleges 02 4472 9202.
