Faces to the wind at The Manor

On Monday 21st January, residents of The Manor Retirement Village were treated to a visit from South Coast Side Car Tours.

Organised by The Manor’s onsite home care package provider Vitality Care, residents were taken on a ride to Mosquito Bay and back. Those who took part had a lovely time, most of them trying to encourage the tour operator not to turn back but to keep going!

There were a few past bikers that surprised the staff. Sharing stories of their bike related escapades in the past was a valuable experience, fostering connections and community spirit in the Manor.

Participants were given the opportunity to have a family member or friend ride along with them, which Enid Morrison did – having her grandson Kaine ride with her. (below)

Grace Unitt was on hand to provide a lovely scarf to blow in the wind for all the ladies. (below)

The most adventurous rider of the day was Maureen Morgan who chose to ride pillion whilst staff member Ella Oakman took the opportunity to accompany her in the side car (below)

The tour operator, Andrew had this to say on Vitality Care’s facebook page – “I had an absolute ball today meeting everybody and touring around such a beautiful part of the South Coast. Residents and staff were all so welcoming and lovely people. Thank you!”
