Evans Park Tuross Head : Skatepark, BBQs, Heritage Park, District Level Playground, exercise station

Eurobodalla Council will hold a stall at the Tuross Village Fair on Monday 1 October to discuss recreation facilities and activities for youth in the village.

Members of Council’s recreation services team will be seeking ideas for next year's Evans Road Reserve playground upgrade, as well as input from young people about what they would like to do in Tuross.

Council’s Divisional Manager Recreation Services Mark Upson said Council’s Recreation and Open Space Strategy identified an upgrade of the Evans Road Reserve to a district recreation park catering to all ages.

“We want hear from the broadest possible range of people regarding their preferences for playground equipment, other recreation elements and ideas for the area,” he said.

“These elements might include picnic or barbecue facilities, water bubblers, skate elements or other ideas residents and visitors might have, and we want to hear those ideas.

“The Tuross community has in the past told us that facilities and activities for youth are a high priority so we’re particularly keen to hear from young people about what is important to them. We want to know what youth like to do in Tuross, and what they would like to be able to do.”

Council’s Jobs and Training Project Coordinator Rhonnie South will also be at the stall, chatting to Tuross residents about local education and employment opportunities in the health and community services sector.

The Tuross Village Fair will be held at the Evans Road Reserve, Tuross Head, on Monday 1 October from 8am-1pm.

Those unable to make the fair will be able to complete a short survey via Council’s website www.esc.nsw.gov.au after the event, or can alternatively send their ideas to Council by emailing council@esc.nsw.gov.au with the subject “Tuross Head recreation”.

Above: Upgrading Evans Road Reserve from a local park to a district recreation park, and identifying appropriate youth-focused activities in Tuross Head, are actions in Council’s Recreation and Open Space Strategy 2018.
