Eurobodalla Council is celebrating the hundreds of volunteers who give up their time for the Eurobodalla community this National Volunteer Week.
Council has more than 700 volunteers on its books for programs and services including the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Gardens, Landcare, the Marine Debris Working Group, local youth cafés and the Y-Drive program.
Council’s Community Care program has more than 90 volunteers who give up their time to provide community transport, support for seniors and people with disability, respite for carers and friends in grief.

Rick Windsor (above) volunteers up to 40 hours a week of his time providing support for seniors and people with disability through the Community Care program.
He started volunteering with the service back in 1997 when, new to the area, he couldn’t find work and didn’t want to “sit around doing nothing”.
Now 71, Mr Windsor continues to take clients to social engagements, medical appointments and shopping trips, both here and further afield. He says the people he helps continue to brighten his life.
“I could have given it away ages ago but I still love doing it,” he said.
“It’s the amazing people I’ve met over the years, and they’re always grateful for what we do.”
‘Give a little, change a lot’ is the theme of National Volunteer Week 2018, held May 21-27.
