Photographers go retro

The Eurobodalla Photographic Club had a trip down memory lane this month. All the photographs submitted for the monthly competition were in “black and white”!

This tested the skills of the photographers but the pictures showed they were up to the challenge. A great many beautiful pictures were displayed.

The judge for the evening was Peter Robinson of the Narooma Photographic Club and he kept the club entertained with his sharp wit and insightful critiques.

Peter’s experience of photography would be hard to match. In addition to digital photography, he still occasional takes photos with the old technique of film. He took his first photography course in 1947 whilst serving with the RAF!

In addition to judging, Peter gave an interesting talk on ‘composition’ and shared his top tips for taking great photographs.

Heath Barkley also gave some technical tips on choosing the best position for taking photos and the impact of lens choices.

More outstanding photographs from the Eurobodalla Photographic Club will be displayed at Malua Bay Bowling Club as part of The River of Art program for 2018. The exhibition hours of opening are: Friday 18th May, 11am - 5pm; Saturday 19th May 11am - 5 pm; Sunday 20th May 11am to 3pm.
