Batemans Bay parkrun # 87 - 30/12/2017

A gorgeous South Coast morning for a very well attended run.

The great thing with parkrun in Batemans Bay is that you never know who might join in for a run. Today saw the keen attendance of a well known runner - welcome to Bill Shorten.

A new participation record for Batemans Bay parkrun this morning with 166 people crossing the finish line.

This means our volunteers today were kept very busy so a huge thank you to Debbie McCartney, Leanne Graham, Zoe Whymark, Helen Cameron, Kate Halton, Maureen Searson, Helen Tennant, Cara Young and Kim Young

parkrun Batemans Bay is a double loop course with surfaces including grass, concrete and bitumen. Start from Rotary Park near the Batemans Bay Marina on Beach Road. Head west out of Rotary Park on the water side of the Spinnaker Reach building and join the cycle path heading in the direction of the bridge.

The first turnaround point is located on the waterfront walkway at the first jetty. Head back along the cycle path towards Rotary Park and enter the park to the left of the Spinnaker Reach building.

Run through the start line and straight ahead towards the Marina break wall. Turn for a second time at the cone near the end of the break wall and re-trace your steps to the start line where you will have completed 2.5km.

Complete the loop once more to finish the 5km.
