Motorists will be diverted to a new temporary road tomorrow as part of the $45 million NSW Government funded upgrade of the Princes Highway at Dignams Creek.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said as part of the upgrade a new two kilometre section of highway is being built and another 800 metre section is being widened.
“Two new bridges will also be built across Dignams Creek and Dignams Creek Road to provide a smoother journey for motorists.
“The opening of temporary road at Dignams Creek previously advised as 27 November was delayed due to weather. It will now open this Friday, 15 December, weather permitting.
“Motorists are expected to use the temporary road until mid-next year.
“The speed limit on the Princes Highway will be reduced through the worksite at times and traffic control may be needed to keep the worksite safe for motorists and workers.
“The final out of hours work this year will be carried out this Saturday 16 December from 8am to 6pm.
“Work on the upgrade will stop during the Christmas and New Year holidays from 22 December to 8 January 2018 so motorists driving during the holiday period can travel as efficiently as possible.
“The project is on track to open to traffic in mid-2019, weather permitting,” the spokesperson said.
