Eurobodalla Council is establishing a panel of qualified tradespeople to deliver services for Council.
Following a pre-qualification process, contractors will be panelled for a period of two years and may be called upon to carry out works for Council as they arise.
Council’s Fleet and Procurement Coordinator David Moran said the move was the result of a recent review of the way Council procures goods and services.
“Establishing panels for provision of goods and services is designed to streamline the administrative process of contracting for both Council and industry,” he said.
“It will reduce red tape for tradies, as they will not have to quote for individual jobs at Council every time they arise.
“It is also expected to deliver cost savings to Council, reduce administration and achieve better economies of scale.”
A formal Request for Tender seeking submissions in the areas of electrical, plumbing/drainage/gas fitter, locksmith, carpentry/joinery, painters, concreting, tiling and pest control, is expected to be issued to the market in May.
A pre-tender briefing session will be held at the Moruya Golf Club on Wednesday 26 April from 5.30pm.
