‘HammondCare are holding a free community seminar to help people with dementia and their carers to live well at home. During the seminar they will look at how a person’s living environment can influence a person’s actions and hinder or assist independence.
They will be covering the positive and negative attributes of the various technological aids on the market and will discuss their value in helping a person with dementia, or whether they actually add to confusion.
Also being discussed will be the meaningful communicating and engagement with a person who has dementia, as well as carer tips on maintaining balance between caring and other roles. This will include details about the various types of respite and home care supports that are available, including carer support discussions with Alzheimer’s Australia.
The community is invited to join them for morning tea and two informative sessions in a supportive environment.
