Advisory committee members wanted
Eurobodalla Shire Council is calling for expressions of interest for its three advisory committees; the Aboriginal Advisory Committee, Disability Inclusion Advisory Committee and the Public Art Advisory Committee.
Advisory committee members review programs and initiatives and provide advice to Council on issues that affect them.
Mayor Liz Innes said the committees were part of Council’s commitment to working with the community.
“Council’s advisory committees help to build and strengthen connections between Council and the community,” she said.
“Committee members have the important role of engaging and representing their community to make sure that Council understands the issues that are important and to ensure Council is reflecting the views of those who are affected by Council’s policies.”
The committees meet four times a year at Council’s administration building in Moruya and members must be willing to attend all four. Transport assistance to attend meetings is available.
Council wants to hear from:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who live, work or study in Eurobodalla who are interested in representing their community on the Aboriginal Advisory Committee;
People with a disability, or who care for someone with a disability, to advocate on the Disability Inclusion Advisory Committee; and
People to provide expert cultural and artistic advice and guidance to Council and staff on planning public art on the Public Art Advisory Committee.
