Want to learn traditional Indigenous games - Nov 24th

Traditional Indigenous games training

When: Thursday 24 November 2016, 10am - 4pm

Where: Moruya Showground, 74 Albert Street Moruya

Cost: Free!

Sporting clubs, community members and groups are invited to attend free training on how to plan and conduct traditional Indigenous games.

Many of the games you see today have evolved from traditional games of the past. Traditional Indigenous games provide all Australians with a greater understanding and appreciation for Indigenous culture. Through this unique event, traditional Indigenous culture can be experienced and enjoyed by all Australians.

The training will also include how to book, collect, safely operate and run activities from the Community Activities Trailer. The Community Activities Trailer is loaned by Council to schools and community groups to help increase participation in sport.

The training will be run by local Indigenous resident Shane Davison. Shane has had several years experience in conducting community activities and is a qualified Train the Trainer.

At the end of the training, attendees will receive a digital copy of the Yulunga: Traditional Indigenous Games resource.

Attendees are asked to bring along a hat, enclosed shoes and your own lunch.
