NSW RFS - Batemans Bay Brigade report: Car Fire

Last night just after 8:30pm we were responded to reports of a car fire on Lattas Point Road.

Our crew arrived and located a single cab ute fully involved on Mills Fishing Road near the powerlines. After a quick set up and attack the fire was promptly knocked down and hotspots were mopped up by our crew in breathing apparatus. The car was checked over with our thermal imaging camera to ensure complete extinguishment prior to our departure from the scene.

Above: surely Batemans Bay is better than this? These fires are coming from stolen vehicles and each and every event requires the call out of our volunteers. Those volunteers, dragged from their beds in the middle of the night are mothers, fathers, sisters, fathers, daughters and sons.
