ABC South East NSW report: · SICK WHALE SPOTTED IN EDEN, PUBLIC TOLD TO KEEP DISTANCE Volunteer rescue group ORRCA will continue to monitor a sick juvenile humpback whale sighted in #Eden over the weekend. The whale was spotted by members of the public on Sunday at Twofold Bay, with residents taking to social media to express concern. The National Parks and Wildlife Service says the whale was last seen 150 metres off Aslings Beach and is urging the public to keep their distance. ORRCA spokesman Lee Mansfield says the cause of the whale's illness is unknown, but believes it to be affected by "whale lice". Mr Mansfield is encouraging the public to report sightings to the ORRCA rescue helpline 02 9415 3333.
