Moruya: Australian flag jump

Instructors from Skydive Oz jumped into the Moruya Show this week with the Australian flag

Flag jumper, Richie Dronow, is the Chief Instructor at Skydive Oz and the photos were taken by Jules McConnel. Combined the pair have approximately 20,000 skydives and over 35 years in the sport.

The display jumpers took off from the airport during one of the busiest days of the year at Skydive Oz where jumpers from around the state and interstate flocked to Moruya for a coastal weekend escape. All week the drop zone had been busy with over 100 jumps happening everyday, and Saturday saw over 220 jumps at the airport. Richie and Jules jumped from the plane over the showground at about 1.30pm and landed in the middle of the oval with the crowd cheering them on. 'Display jumps are always exciting', says Richie 'landing into a different location in front of a crowd adds an extra level of complexity and definitely gets the adrenalin pumping!'
