A few years ago the Tilba District embraced the team from River Cottage Australia during its 4 season run featuring the wonderful produce and lifestyle of our region.
This year’s Tilba Festival will see popular local musician Joe Driscoll temporarily hanging up his guitar to re-launch the food van made famous by Paul West in the series.
Joe says “Gone are the days of the humble hot dog. With a little imagination and tons of passion, the tempting, tasty and exciting combinations are endless.”
With the help of Dennis Walker, who for many years was chef at Sydney’s Menzies Hotel will be providing a selection of mouthwatering gourmet dog surprises that will get your taste buds dancing.
The Gourmet Dog House will also have a breakfast menu, featuring bacon and egg rolls and the “Brekky Dog”; topped with scrambled eggs, bacon and melted cheese.
In addition celebrity chef Kelly Eastwood, who featured on the program is having her own stall at the festival selling her gourmet donuts and home-made drinks.
Kelly Eastwood has cooked for the rich and famous and has been food producer for MasterChef, My Kitchen Rules, Better Homes and Gardens and Destination Flavour but Kelly is only just getting started.
Now Kelly is thriving with her own café and cooking school in Bermagui
“Everyone thinks that life of superyachts and private jets is glamorous but it’s a lot of hard work but now I love the seaside life and having my own school” Kelly says.
