Drug affected driver arrested at Malua Bay

BATEMANS BAY

About 7:55pm on Saturday 31 December 2016, police observed a silver Subaru with no front or rear number plates turn onto Moorong Crescent, Malua Bay. Police pulled behind the vehicle and activated lights.

Police spoke with the male driver and a male occupant. Police searched the vehicle and located small resealable plastic bags, alleged to contain cannabis and the other MDMA capsules. These were seized along with a drug implement. Also the occupant was searched and further capsules were located.

The driver was subjected to a roadside saliva drug test which proved positive. He was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station for the secondary test. Results are pending.

The 26 year old driver from Woodlands (Mogo) was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for drug supply charges and will appear at Batemans Bay Local Court. Source
